Year 6

Welcome to our Year 6 webpage.  We are very proud of our school and take pride in being role models to the younger children. We have thoroughly enjoyed our learning journey through the Calcot Schools but remain determined to give of our best and fulfil our dreams in the future.

We have three classes and our teachers are Mrs Settle, Miss Hughes and Mrs Eva. To support us further, we have  Mrs Fostekew, Mrs Ince, Mrs Wasley and Mr Carr.

Our working week is full and as independent learners we use every opportunity to deepen our understanding and further develop our skills by applying these in a variety of ways. We are looking forward to studying Carrie's War, as last year the Year Six children had tea with an evacuee. During the day we spent time talking to evacuees, some of which were ex pupils of the school.

This year we have been taught how to play the steel pans. Opportunities like this are unusual but we absolutely love it! In fact last year we performed in our own Calcot Carnival and we like to showcase our skills in local community events.

Please visit our subject pages to see the curriculum for each area of the curriculum.
