Lunches at Calcot Schools

We have our own in house catering team at Calcot Schools so we prepare our own fresh meals everyday. Each day we provide a selection of hot meals and these come served with fresh vegetables, salad and home made bread. Main courses include meat or fish dishes, a vegetarian option, a cold option and an alternative such as filled baked potato or salad. In addition, the children can select a pudding of their choice or a yoghurt and a piece of fresh fruit. Our menus include vegetarian options and we can cater for allergies and food intolerances if we are notified in advance. Our catering team are passionate about providing our children with a varied, healthy and nutritious diet. Our kitchens have been highly commended for their 5 star food hygiene rating.

How to order a school meal

All infants are entitled to hot free school meals (which is Government funded and known as Universal Free School Meals) alternatively you can provide them with a packed lunch.

In the Juniors (Years 3 - 6)  school dinners are available and can be ordered via parentmail as below.  A school dinner costs £2.50.  you may provide your child with a packed lunch as an alternative.

Dinners can  be pre-ordered via reach more parents in advance.  Ordering in advance really helps us when ordering produce and preparing meals, however children can still request a school meals in class every day, should they need to as the meals are prepared fresh and to order each morning.

Junior School - To order a dinner – Go to the Accounts option in the menu. Select the Dinner account and select the day you would like to order for. The menu options for that week will then appear and you can choose a main and dessert for your child to have. You will be able to order dinners until the end of term with the exception of the Christmas dinner which will be ordered separately. Once you have selected all the dinners you want you can then go to the checkout. You will be asked to pay for all selected dinners at this point. If you choose the Pay Later option, your dinners stay in your checkout and will not be confirmed as ordered until you pay. Alternatively you can choose to pre-load your account and use these funds to pay for the dinners. Once funds have depleted you will not be able to order more dinners until the funds are topped up.  As soon as you have placed your dinner order, you will still have the option to go back into your order and make changes. Cut off for changes is 24 hours’ notice.
